Suite Adelantado<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

This suite, previously the master bedroom, is surprising for its stunning coffered wooden ceiling in the first room that overlooks the street with the iron balcony on the frontage. It is composed of two bedrooms and takes its name from the figure of the Adelantado, a medieval title granted by the Kings of Spain to the conquistadors, providing them with great legal and economic powers.<\/p>\n

La Laguna was where settled the first Adelantado of the Canary Islands, Alonso Fern\u00e1ndez de Lugo and his descendants who inherited the title, which is why it is also known as the Ciudad de los Adelantados (City of the Adelantados). His residence was where nowadays the Convento de las Catalinas is located, opposite the Plaza del Adelantado.<\/p>\n

It is important to remember that if at the beginning it was established in the area known as Villa de Arriba (around the Iglesia de la Concepci\u00f3n), soon the nobility and the institutions, starting with the Adelantado, moved to Villa de Abajo (the area around the current Plaza del Adelantado). It is worth mentioning the anecdote that despite the fact that La Laguna was planned with straight grids (it is the first modern city whose example is exported to all of Latin America and for this reason it is a World Heritage City) the current Obispo Rey Redondo street has a curve that was promoted by the Adelantado himself, and there are two theories, one to avoid seeing from his house the old residence of the Villa de Arriba where his son was murdered, and the other due to the power struggle he maintained with the Church to avoid seeing the tower of the Concepci\u00f3n from his house.<\/p>\n

This suite has a majestic period furniture where we highlight a chaise longue and the cornicing in the master bedroom and the tapestry of L\u00f3pez Ruiz (famous Canarian painter) and the armchair in the second bedroom. Above the main headboard we can enjoy contemporary prints of the 7+1 Canary Islands created by a young artist and local dynamizer.<\/p>\n

In this suite the bathroom with its marble tiles and layout has been respected as much as possible. The kitchen has been adapted in the old wardrobe room of the last lady who lived in the house<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

Our establishment is an impressive eclectic-modernist mansion from the early 20th century built on the original construction of an 18th century Canarian mansion, where we find 10 suites with a unique history and personality each one of them. Its front, rich in neoclassical decorations, has one of the first Canarian iron balconies.<\/p>\n

Our palace has an emblematic main courtyard decorated with plasterwork and iron columns, also surprising the visitors with the discovery of a bucolic back garden that will bring us closer to nature to the delight of our guests.<\/p>\n
