Suite Amaro Pargo

Suite Amaro Pargo

This bright suite in its main room has two balconies, one overlooking the garden and the other the main courtyard, as well as a second bedroom with a sofa bed, a hall and a dressing room.

This suite takes its name from the illustrious ancestor of the owner’s family, the corsair Amaro Pargo (1678-1747), famous for his great naval actions through the privateering patent granted to him by King Philip V, as well as for the great fortune he amassed as a businessman, especially in the trade with the Indies. He was a person engaged in the society and beliefs of his time, with numerous works of devotion and charity. In this sense, his spiritual relationship with the venerated Servant of God (Sister María de la Jesús), who is in the process of beatification, is noteworthy. He took charge of her sarcophagus and her exhumation, thanks to which the miracle of her incorruptibility was discovered.

Interest in this figure has recently been revived as a result of numerous studies. His tomb has been exhumed by the video game multinational UBISOFT to study his rests, a tombstone that can be seen in the Church of Santo Domingo in the city under the sign of a skull and two bones. Books, novels and recordings of documentaries have been made about this important character. Books, novels and recordings of documentaries have been made about this important character.

This suite is decorated with a marine motifs painting of a well-known Canarian artist, a mirror that simulates a porthole as well as other period and contemporary objects that make this room one of our favourites… We would like to highlight the wooden floor of singular composition dating from 1910 and a palatial luminaire.

Nava Suites

Our establishment is an impressive eclectic-modernist mansion from the early 20th century built on the original construction of an 18th century Canarian mansion, where we find 10 suites with a unique history and personality each one of them. Its front, rich in neoclassical decorations, has one of the first Canarian iron balconies.

Our palace has an emblematic main courtyard decorated with plasterwork and iron columns, also surprising the visitors with the discovery of a bucolic back garden that will bring us closer to nature to the delight of our guests.

At Nava Suites you can also organise private events in its different facilities as well as hire any service that will make your stay an exceptional experience.
